Qualifications

• Must hold a current Texas CNA certification in good standing.
• Must hold a current Texas Medication Aide certification in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records drug, dosage and time of administration on forms or records.
• Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application or administers medication using specified procedures.
• Takes vital signs or observes residents to detect responses to medications and prepares reports or notifies staff of unexpected reactions.
• Takes and records temperatures, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates and food and fluid intake as directed.
• Answers signal lights, bells or intercom to determine resident needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
