Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications per protocol.
• Administer medications and treatments per state regulations and policy.
• Observe and report adverse reactions to the charge nurse.
• Take and record vital signs before medication administration.
• Document reasons medications are not administered.
• Prepare and set up medications prior to administration.
• Document medication administration in the resident MAR.
• Administer oxygen in emergencies and notify the nurse on duty.
• Apply ophthalmic, OTIC, nasal, and vaginal medications.
• Follow all principles of proper medication administration.
• Assist with daily care tasks and mobility as needed.
• Help maintain cleanliness of the nursing station and medication room.

Education
