Job summary

The Shoal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Texas City, TX is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (PRN) to prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications per protocol. You will work on site and coordinate with the charge nurse to ensure resident safety and care.

Qualifications include completion of State Approved Medication Aide Training with competency evaluation, high school diploma preferred, and at least 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Must complete State Approved Medication Aide Training and competency evaluation.
• Previous healthcare exposure preferred; knowledge of universal precautions.
• Good standing in state registry required.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications per protocol and documents in MAR.
• Observe and report reactions or side effects to the nurse in charge.
• Take and record vital signs prior to medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation and MAR; notify nurse on any discrepancies.
• Assist with daily cares as needed and ensure safety and cleanliness.
