The role requires a Texas Medication Aide certification, strong attention to documentation, and collaborative communication with nurses to safeguard resident privacy and well-being.

Qualifications

• Holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.
• Communicates clearly with residents and team, demonstrating patience and professionalism.
• Pays close attention to detail and ensures accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed PO, topical, and rectal medications per physician orders and company policy.
• Monitor for adverse medication reactions or changes in resident status and report promptly.
• Document all medication administration accurately in compliance with policies.
• Maintain control of the medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment.
• Protect resident privacy and safeguard confidential information.
• Follow infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse.
