Job summary

Minimum qualifications include TX CMA certification and a high school diploma; preferred candidates have EHR familiarity, CPR/First Aid, and prior long‑term care experience.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Medication Aide in Texas (NOT MEDICAL ASSISTANT).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of medication administration principles and healthcare safety standards.
• Ability to pass background checks and health screening requirements.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications to patients under the supervision of licensed nurses.
• Monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions and communicate observations to nursing staff promptly.
• Maintain accurate medication administration records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist with patient care activities including basic health monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition.
• Ensure medication storage areas are organized, secure, and comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in ongoing training and competency evaluations to maintain certification and stay current with best practices.
