You will administer prescribed medications, document accurately, and monitor patient responses while maintaining safety and privacy. The role emphasizes reliable teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to infection control and policy standards.

Qualifications

• Holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures
• Clear communication with patients and team; professionalism and patience
• Pays close attention to detail and ensures accurate documentation

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed PO, topical, and rectal medications per orders and policy
• Monitor for adverse reactions or changes in resident status and report promptly
• Document all medication administration in accordance with policies
• Maintain control of the medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment
• Safeguard the confidentiality of resident information
• Follow infection control procedures during medication administration
• Report any medication errors promptly to the Charge Nurse
