Qualifikationen

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Michigan Board of Nursing approved Medication Aide training program.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered, excluding controlled meds and certain routes, per state and federal regulations.
• Administer prescription and OTC medications in Michigan only under RN delegation.
• Review medication records for completeness and accuracy with physician orders.
• Follow medication administration rights and infection prevention standards.
• Verify orders with RN Supervisor and document vital signs as needed.
• Observe for side effects or adverse reactions and report promptly to RN Supervisor.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications in compliance with regulations.
• Notify RN Supervisor of incidents or changes in resident condition.
• Review resident charts for treatments and diets when necessary.

Ausbildung

Current Michigan Certified/State Tested Nurse Assistant certification

State certified medication aide certification

Current CPR certification
