Job summary

Life Care Centers of America seeks a Certified Medication Aide to deliver quality care during admissions in a post-acute setting. The role requires a State approved CNA, active licensure, and certification to administer medications with strict adherence to laws and Life Care standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, CPR, and a State-approved CMA program, with preferred 1 year of geriatric nursing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a State approved CNA program.
• Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
• One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred.
• CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
• Completed a State approved program and exam for Certified Medication Aide.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and safely prepare, administer, store, and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used in the facility as well as those which may be ordered by the attending physician.
• Report medication errors immediately.
• Ensure that no medication is administered without a written, signed, and dated order from an attending physician.
• Chart appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
