The role requires adherence to physician orders, safety policies, and infection control standards, with strict documentation of all medication activity.

The ideal candidate holds CMA and CNA certifications, demonstrates patience, and demonstrates genuine care for the elderly and disabled while maintaining privacy and teamwork with care staff.

Qualifications

• Current CMA certification from state.
• Current CNA certification from state.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to record information and perform technical procedures.
• Good communication skills with patience.
• Genuine care and interest in elderly/handicapped people.
• Ability to comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to lift, bend, and twist as required.

Responsabilités

• Administer resident medications as prescribed (PO, topical, rectal) per physician orders and policies.
• Monitor adverse effects and report to Charge Nurse immediately.
• Record all medication administration per policy.
• Report medication errors to Charge Nurse immediately.
• Maintain security of medication cart and a safe environment.
• Uphold resident confidentiality and privacy.
• Observe infection control policies for medication administration.
• Monitor assigned administration of resident medication.
• Notify Charge Nurse of complaints, reactions, or status changes.
