Job summary

Care Initiatives seeks a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our compassionate care team in Iowa. The CMA will support daily living activities, assist with medication administration and health monitoring, and contribute to a positive, healing environment across our communities.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in Iowa or ability to activate.
• Medication Aide certification valid in Iowa or ability to activate.
• Strong commitment to resident care, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and helping with medications.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Monitor health and perform routine vital checks.
• Communicate clearly with residents, families and the healthcare team.
• Encourage recreational and therapeutic activities to support health and daily routines.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.

What You'll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and passing medications.
• Deliver emotional support and provide companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Provide health monitoring and conducting routine vital checks.
• Interact and communicate with residents, families, as well as the healthcare team.
• Encourage and facilitate resident recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for safety.

Qualifications:

• Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the state of Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.
• Valid certification as a Medication Aide. Medication Aide must be valid within the state of Iowa, or ability to activate.

• Strong commitment to resident care, professionalism, and teamwork.

• Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.
