Job description

Jourdanton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is currently searching for a talented Certified Medication Aide to join our team!

The primary purpose of the CMA position is to ensure the highest quality of resident care available, support staff and establish a positive reputation in the community while delivering on the Eduro HealthCare Values of wellness, compassion, customer experience and company results.

Medication Aide Responsibilities:

  • Deliver routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to patients.
  • Coordinate with different nurses to assist with patient care and medications.
  • Follow written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications.
  • Record medication dosages and times.
  • Observe patients and document changes in their condition.
  • Gather samples for analysis.
  • Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned.
  • Uphold all health and safety standards.
  • Respond to patient emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify patient needs.

Medication Aide Requirements:

  • Must be a Certified Medication Aide AND Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing in state employed, or able to become state certified in the state you are employed in.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a CMA.
  • Successful completion of a training and competency evaluation program required.
  • Completion of orientation required by company policy.
  • Health screening and TB test (if required) within two weeks of employment.
  • Mandatory drug test within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check.
  • Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment.
