Position: Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

  • CMA to LPN: Build on your skills and knowledge as you advance from a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with our educational support.
  • LPN to RN: Progress from a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to a Registered Nurse (RN) with our career development opportunities.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • North Carolina CNA certification
  • North Carolina Certified Medication Aide (CMA/CNA) License
  • One (1) year of certified medication aide experience in long-term care or hospital setting preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and safely prepare and document oral and/or topical medications as ordered by the attending physician.
  • Ensure all medications administered are properly labeled.
  • Measure, record, and report the vital signs of residents.
  • Observe and verify that medication is ingested or applied as directed, documenting any instances of refusal.
  • Follow facility procedures for recording medication orders in the resident’s clinical record.
  • Be familiar with common medical abbreviations, symbols, and terms related to medication administration.
  • Perform C.N.A job duties when required.
