Job summary

Cascade Health Services is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team in Texas. The CMA will administer medications and provide compassionate care to residents, in accordance with nursing standards and state requirements.

The position is full-time with Saturday and Sunday shifts (6:00am - 10:00pm) and pay of $18.00 per hour. Benefits include PTO, holidays, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and education credits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must hold a current Medication Aide permit valid in Texas.
  • Must hold a current CNA certification valid in Texas and in good standing.
  • Previous experience with medication aide duties preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow facility policies to administer medications per physician orders.
  • Provide care to residents per facility procedures.
  • Report residents’ needs to a licensed nurse.
  • Requisition medications and supplies for timely administration.
  • Participate in supervision of care provided to residents.

The CMA will provide compassionate support to the community and administer medications in accordance with established nursing standards, standards of medication aide practices and state and federal requirements.

Position and Schedule

Responsibilities
  • Follow established facility policies and procedures to administer medications to residents in accordance with physician’s orders.
  • Provide care to residents following facility policies and procedures.
  • Report residents’ needs and concerns to a licensed nurse.
  • Requisition adequate medications and supplies to administer medications in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Participate in supervision of care provided to resident.
  • Document resident cares related to medication administration, related monitoring, and report to the licensed nurse any occurrence of observed adverse effects/change in resident's condition.
  • Perform duties of Certified Nurse Aide as assigned.
Qualifications
  • San Antonio, TX: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Must hold a current permit as a Medication Aide (MA) valid in the State of Texas.
  • Must hold a current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification valid in the State of Texas and be in good standing.
  • Previous experience with medication aide duties, preferred.
  • Physical & sensory abilities commensurate with this position to include but not limited to frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
  • Good communications skills & ability to work with a Team of professionals.
  • Supportive and compassionate.
