Job summary

Focused Post Acute Care Partners is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our team in Texas. The CMA will accurately prepare and administer medications to residents and document administration in the EMR, ensuring patient safety and compliance with regulations.

The ideal candidate holds a Texas CMA certification, is in good standing on Nurse Aide Registry and Misconduct Registry, and can follow written and oral instructions in English.

Qualifications

• Must hold Texas Certified Medication Aide Certification.
• In good standing on Nurse Aide Registry and Misconduct Registry.
• Ability to understand, remember and carry out oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents and team members.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications as prescribed.
• Immediately report any errors to the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.
• Record vital signs and maintain accurate medication administration records.
• Assist with safe transfers and movements as needed and within limits.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment as required.

Immediately report any errors to the Charge Nurse or Director of NursingAccurately take and record vital signsAccurately count and sign medication administration record for controlled drugsSafely lift, move and transfer residents as required. This involves the ability to safely transfer residents who cannot bear their own weight. It also involves the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting in excess of 150 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations; manual dexterity required performing tasks in assisting residents with their personal needsObserve all residents and report anything unusual or abnormal to Charge Nurse; ability to safely care for residents in a patient and respectful manner despite some resident's lack of cooperation and/or combativenessFollow safety guidelines; promptly remove and clean up urine or bowel excretions and other spills or safety hazardsSafely utilize the equipment.
