Job Details

Shift: Night shift, 12-hour shifts on weekends (every other Saturday and Sunday, 7P-7A).

Job Description

The Care Partner/Certified Medication Aide assists with medication administration for Assisted Living residents and participates in health maintenance activities that do not include complex daily living tasks. The role involves providing person-directed care to enable residents to live fulfilling lives, supporting social, emotional, and cognitive engagement, and offering limited health maintenance activities.

Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a State-approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Registration with State registry required.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and document care provided.
Essential Duties
  • Assist residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, and toileting.
  • Collect limited specimen types as instructed.
  • Report and record observations daily, by the end of each shift.
  • Respond promptly to call lights.
  • Maintain clean and orderly rooms, change linens, and perform laundry duties.
  • Provide respectful, person-directed care, honoring residents' rights and preferences.
  • Understand medication classifications, recognize side effects, and follow infection control procedures.
  • Assist with medication administration, proper documentation, storage, and disposal, notifying the LPN of any issues.
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain safe, sanitary workstations and equipment.
  • Encourage independence and facilitate meaningful activities and engagement.
  • Attend training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
