Cantex is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to administer oral and topical medications to patients/residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role requires adherence to state and federal rules and regulations and daily tasks to maintain patient well-being.

The position emphasizes accurate medication administration, vital signs when required, and strict documentation, with responsibilities including PRN meds and narcotic handling under supervision.

Qualifications

• State certification as a Nursing Assistant mandatory.
• State approved medication administration certification (where required).
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsabilités

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• May take and record vital signs as assigned or per medication requirements.
• Records the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately.
• Observes for and reports reactions/side effects to a licensed nurse or shift.
• Administers PRN medications per regulations and policy.
• Document reasons for and responses to PRN medications promptly.
• Securely manage medication carts/rooms per regulations and policy.
