Job summary

Prestige Care Center of Fairfield is hiring a Certified Medication Aide to administer medications under supervision, observe for reactions, and document care accurately. The role requires a CNA and a medication aide certification, plus CPR and basic healthcare knowledge.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of healthcare experience or two years as a medication aide, and a strong commitment to resident dignity and safety. A sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Medication aide certification.
• 1 year healthcare experience or 2 years as medication aide.
• Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Delivers routine daily oral, inhalation and topical medications to residents under direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Observes for adverse drug reactions and reports to the nurse.
• Records medication administration according to company policies and procedures.
• Follows written or verbal instructions on medication management.
• Observes residents for changes and documents changes in their condition.
• Performs tasks related to medication administration, including vital signs and dose calculations.
• Practices safe handling and storage of medications.
• Treats residents with dignity and protects rights.
• Maintains confidentiality of health information.
