Job summary

Regency Newcastle is seeking a dedicated CMA/Med Tech to provide individualized care to residents, administer medications, and monitor their well-being in a day shift role. The position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus for full-time staff and a starting wage of $21 per hour based on experience.

You will perform medication administration, vital signs, and daily activities while ensuring safety and adherence to care plans.

Qualifications

• HCA Certification and CPR/BLS are required credentials.
• Experience in direct resident care is preferred.
• Solid communication in English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor resident medications as directed by physician.
• Take vital signs, assist with activity of daily living and mobility.
• Assist with grooming, bathing, feeding, and continence care.
• Follow individualized care plans and document observations.
• Maintain safety and infection control procedures.

As a CMA, you provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain their highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. You also administer, instruct, and monitor resident medications and report to the wellness director.

You Will:

• Ensure proper dosage/distribution and instruct residents on application/consumption of medication per the direction of their physician
• Take vital signs, residents' weights, apply creams/ointments, collect specimens, lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices to prevent accidents.
• Attend to the resident's needs, including; grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communication, in keeping with the individuals' care requirements
• Ensure individualized care plans are followed and provide care planning staff with specific information, changes, and observations of the residents' needs and preferences.
• Document care in keeping with department policies

You Currently:

• Possess an HCA certification in the state of employment
• Can obtain CPR/BLS card
• Read, write, speak and understand EnglishFollow prescribed safety and infection control procedures
• Have compassion and interest in working with the senior population
• Communicate and interact tactfully with others
