Job summary

High Shoals Health & Rehab is seeking a compassionate Certified Medication Aide to administer physician-ordered medications and treatments in accordance with clinical guidelines. You will perform finger-stick glucose testing, insulin administration as directed, and document all MAR entries in the resident's chart.

In this role, you’ll store and dispose of medications properly, respond to residents’ concerns with a caring demeanor, and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure safe, high-quality

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • GA Certified Nursing Aide and Certified Medication Aide.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications as ordered (oral, topical, ophthalmic, otic, nasal, vaginal, rectal).
  • Administer insulin, epinephrine, and B12 per physician direction.
  • Perform finger-stick blood glucose testing per guidelines.
  • Document medication administration and refusals in resident records.
  • Store, label, and dispose of medications properly.
  • Communicate changes to the licensed nurse and care team.

Report changes to the licensed nurse as needed.SKILLS AND ABILITIESProficient in using a computer, especially Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point.Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills requiredEffective and professional verbal, and written communication skillsCommunicates well with other associates, patients, family members, and visitors providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude.
