Job summary

The University of Kentucky's Medical Laboratory Scientist/Certified will perform clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center. The Core Lab handles blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology and urinalysis using state-of-the-art instrumentation.

The starting pay is $27.00/hour, with pay based on experience. The role requires standing/walking for long periods, night shifts 7:00PM–7:00AM with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• BS degree required.
• ASCP certification must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in the Core Lab across testing sites (blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis).
• Maintain quality of service with accuracy and timely result reporting.
• Operate state-of-the-art instrumentation in the Core Lab and support testing across Chandler, Good Samaritan, ED Satellite and Markey Satellite sites.
