University of Kentucky Healthcare is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Certified to perform clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center. The position supports the Core Lab and conducts tests in blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, and urinalysis across multiple testing sites, ensuring accuracy and timely results for the enterprise and Level I trauma center.

Testing locations include Chandler, Good Samaritan, ED Satellite and Markey Satellite.

The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Certified will be responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center. The Laboratory provides services to all aspects of this Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including solid organ and bone marrow transplant, KY Children’s Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center. This position will be instrumental in maintaining a quality of service based on accuracy and timely result reporting. This position will be located in the Core Lab, and testing will include, but is not limited to, blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, and urinalysis. The Core Lab has multiple testing sites within the organization: Chandler, Good Samaritan, ED Satellite and Markey Satellite. The CAP-Accredited Laboratory at the University of Kentucky showcases the use of state‑of-the‑art instrumentation and technology. In addition, this department provides services to all aspects of the University of Kentucky’s Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including KY Children’s Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center.

All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience. The Laboratory Services department has a variety of specialties and areas.
