Job summary

The University of Kentucky Laboratory Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Certified for the Core Lab. You will perform clinical laboratory testing across chemistry, hematology, coagulation and urinalysis in a fast-paced environment supporting a Level I trauma center.

Three 12-hour shifts weekly, rotating weekends/holidays, with potential call. ASCP certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire; BS required. Excellent teamwork and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree required.
• ASCP certification must be obtained within 6 months from hire date.
• No prior experience required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center.
• Work in the Core Lab handling tests including blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology and urinalysis.
• Support quality and timely reporting of results for the University of Kentucky healthcare system.
