Job summary

Gradient is seeking a Certified Medical Examiner to join our clinical team, conducting medical exams for operators and ensuring fitness for duty across multiple transportation modes. This full-time role involves minimal paperwork and a focus on quality patient care in a supportive environment.

You will rotate between N. Portland and Clackamas locations, work Monday to Friday (40–46 hours) with occasional Saturday shifts, and receive comprehensive benefits including health, life, and retirement

Qualifications

• Licensed clinician eligible for CME certification per FMCSA.
• Experience evaluating physical fitness and job function abilities.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and drug/alcohol testing preferred.
• Strong computer skills and program development experience.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test (incl. THC).

Responsibilities

• Record information about patients’ medical history.
• Conduct physical examinations to determine employment eligibility.
• Administer and ensure the integrity of urine examinations.
• Refer patients to a medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment.
• Transmit medical determinations to appropriate parties.
• Perform specimen collections for drug and alcohol testing.
• Keep up to date on regulatory compliance with respect to medical examinations and drug and alcohol testing.
• Contribute to the development of the company’s health and wellness program.
