Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of Health Information Management or similar coding course.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Certified by AHIMA as CCS, CCSP, RHIT, RHIA.
• Minimum of 1 year experience coding health records.
• Capable of following verbal or written instructions and diplomacy with Medical Staff.
• Participate in ongoing education through workshops and CMS/payors updates.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the Director of Medical Record Department.
• Collect and analyze medical record data.
• Maintain a quality improvement system for effective hospital utilization.
• Promote high quality care through review of clinical practices.
• Support cost effective, high quality patient care through proper resource use.
