Job summary

Heritage Health in Hayden, ID is seeking a full-time Coder for our Pediatrics office. This onsite role focuses on accurate coding of diagnoses, procedures, and services performed by physicians and qualified providers, reporting to the Director of Revenue Cycle.

The ideal candidate has CPC certification, an associate degree in medical coding or related field, and at least one year of FQHC billing experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; associates degree preferred in medical coding.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential is required; AAPC preferred.
• One-year FQHC medical billing experience.

Responsibilities

• Verifying and coding of the diagnosis, evaluation and management, procedures or other codes required for the completeness and accuracy of the record.
• Review of electronic medical records initiated by a health care provider.
• Code and review components of medical records for accuracy of diagnosis, operations, and procedures.
• Research and manage coding related queries to clinical staff and provide guidance.
• Communicates findings and current coding, documentation and billing updates to leadership in a timely manner.
• Remain current with trends and changes in laws and regulations governing medical coding and documentation.
