Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from medical records program preferred.
• Coding certificate from an accredited institution.
• At least 1 year of ICD-10-CM coding in healthcare management/medical records or clerical field.

Responsabilidades

• Thoroughly reads and interprets documentation in the medical record to identify all diagnoses and procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency with overall utilization of hospital encoder/grouper and its functions.
• Effectively utilizes AHA Coding Guidelines and other reference sources available within the department.
• Serves as coding resource for other departments/providers.
