CredSpun LLC is seeking a Certified Medical Coder (CPC) for remote outpatient coding. You will code outpatient encounters, query providers when notes are incomplete, and help practices avoid denials by ensuring codes are supported by documentation.
You will code for various outpatient practices and collaborate with billers when payer questions arise, staying current with CPT/ICD-10-CM updates and payer policies.
Code outpatient encounters from the documentation, query providers when the note doesn't support the code, and help practices stop coding denials before they start.
Most coding denials are not exotic. They come from E/M levels the note doesn't support, missing or misapplied modifiers, diagnosis codes that don't establish medical necessity, and add-on codes billed without the documentation they need. As a certified medical coder at CredSpun, you review outpatient encounters before charges go out so those claims are right the first time.
You will code for several outpatient practices — primary care, psychiatry, behavioral health, nurse practitioners and pediatrics most often — and you will be the person billers and account leads turn to when a payer questions a code.
A specialty credential (for example CEMC or a behavioral health coding background), experience coding telehealth with place-of-service and modifier rules, and auditing experience.
CPC, COC, CCS and CCS-P. Apprentice (CPC-A) coders are welcome to apply for future openings through the general application.
Outpatient and professional-fee coding for physician, nurse practitioner and behavioral health practices.
