Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks a Surgery/Anesthesia Medical Coder for a full-time position. The role involves assigning principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures by reviewing records, ensuring coding accuracy, and compliant submission for reimbursement.

You will review documentation, apply CMS/JCAHO standards, and abstract data from records while resolving discrepancies before billing. Certification from AHIMA or AAPC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding and EHR systems.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification such as RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnoses and procedures by reviewing medical records and applying knowledge of medical terminology and coding guidelines
• Ensure accurate coding and sequencing for reimbursement under the Prospective Payment system, while maintaining compliance with CMS and JCAHO standards
