TAG MedStaffing is seeking a Certified Medical Biller & Coder for an in-office role in Brooklyn, NY. You will review claims, ensure accuracy in coding and documentation, and support revenue cycle workflows to reduce errors and denials.

The position requires 2+ years of relevant experience, active certification, and strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and billing systems. This is a temporary assignment with Monday–Friday in-office scheduling.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; education in medical billing, coding, or health information management preferred.
  • Active professional medical billing or coding certification is required.
  • 2+ years of medical billing, medical coding, claims auditing, or revenue cycle experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, medical coding guidelines, and revenue cycle procedures is required.
  • Experience with electronic health records, medical billing software, and healthcare claims systems is required.
  • Strong analytical, auditing, communication, organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, and process improvement skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Review medical claims and documentation to verify accurate diagnosis, procedure, and billing codes.
  • Identify coding errors, documentation issues, claim discrepancies, and potential denial risks while supporting corrections.
  • Support medical billing, claims processing, and revenue cycle workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Apply current coding guidelines and documentation standards to support accurate and compliant claims.
  • Provide guidance to billing staff on medical coding, documentation, claims processing, and billing procedures.
  • Monitor coding and billing accuracy, identify recurring issues, and support process improvements that reduce claim errors and denials.

Job Overview - Certified Medical Biller & Coder

Compensation: $26 - $28/hour

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Certified Medical Biller & Coder in Brooklyn, NY for our client, supporting medical coding validation, claims auditing, billing workflows, and revenue cycle process improvement. The Certified Medical Biller & Coder will review claims for accuracy, resolve coding and documentation issues, and help improve technology-supported coding processes. This temporary assignment requires strong medical billing and coding expertise with the ability to identify and reduce claim errors and denials.

Responsibilities as the Certified Medical Biller & Coder:
  • Medical Coding: Review medical claims and documentation to verify accurate diagnosis, procedure, and billing codes.
  • Claims Review: Identify coding errors, documentation issues, claim discrepancies, and potential denial risks while supporting appropriate corrections.
  • Billing Operations: Support medical billing, claims processing, and revenue cycle workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coding Compliance: Apply current coding guidelines and documentation standards to support accurate and compliant claims.
  • Training & Support: Provide guidance to billing staff on medical coding, documentation, claims processing, and billing procedures.
