Job summary

TAG MedStaffing is seeking a Certified Medical Biller & Coder in Brooklyn, NY to support medical coding validation, claims auditing, billing workflows, and revenue cycle improvements. This in-office role requires 2+ years of billing and coding experience and active certification.

The position is a temporary assignment with a Monday–Friday schedule, offering hourly compensation of $26–$28. You'll review claims, fix coding issues, and help reduce denials while ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; related field preferred.
• Active professional medical billing or coding certification is required.
• 2+ years of medical billing, medical coding, claims auditing, or revenue cycle experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and revenue cycle procedures.
• Experience with electronic health records and billing software.
• Strong analytical, auditing, communication, organization, detail orientation, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.

Responsibilities

• Medical Coding: Review medical claims and documentation to verify accurate diagnosis, procedure, and billing codes.
• Claims Review: Identify coding errors, documentation issues, claim discrepancies, and potential denial risks while supporting appropriate corrections.
• Billing Operations: Support medical billing, claims processing, and revenue cycle workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Coding Compliance: Apply current coding guidelines and documentation standards to support accurate and compliant claims.
• Training & Support: Provide guidance to billing staff on medical coding, documentation, claims processing, and billing procedures.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor coding and billing accuracy, identify recurring issues, and support process improvements that reduce claim errors and denials.
