Job Description

Job Overview – Certified Medical Assistant (Surgical Team):
Compensation: $47,000 – $54,000/year
Location: Bergen County, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Support our client as a Certified Medical Assistant in Bergen County, NJ, delivering hands-on care, wound management, and procedural support in a fast-paced outpatient surgical setting. Responsibilities include assisting with minor surgeries, prepping exam rooms, and managing EMR documentation. Ideal for polished, detail-oriented professionals with strong clinical experience.

Responsibilities as the Certified Medical Assistant:

• Clinical Support: Provide hands-on care including wound care, suture removal, dressing changes, and medication prep under provider supervision.
• Procedure Assistance: Set up rooms and instruments, assist with minor surgeries, collect specimens, and chaperone providers.
• Patient Intake & EMR: Room patients, take vitals, update medical history and medications, and document in the EMR.
• Supplies & Sterilization: Manage inventory, ensure cleanliness, and disinfect reusable instruments as needed.
• Pre- and Post-Visit Prep: Review schedules, print diagnostic reports, assist with surgical clearances, and complete patient paperwork.

Qualifications for the Certified Medical Assistant:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification & Licensure: Active CMA certification or LPN license required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a surgical or outpatient care setting, with strong emphasis on wound care and post-operative support.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in EMR systems with the ability to document while supporting providers during exams and procedures.
• Skills & Attributes: Highly polished, professional demeanor with excellent multitasking skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
