Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ seeks a full-time, day-shift Certified Medical Assistant Supervisor (CMAS). The CMAS reports to the Clinical Coordinator or Practice Administrator and works under the direction of the Practice Physician to deliver exceptional patient care and perform both clinical and administrative duties.

The role includes supervising clinical staff, maintaining efficient EMR and Microsoft Office workflows, and supporting the clinic's operations

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher; or equivalent experience accepted.
• 3–5 years in a hospital or physician practice setting.
• 1–3 years in a supervisor role.
• Intermediate to advanced EMR knowledge.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office knowledge.

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the‑art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities

The Certified Medical Assistant Supervisor (CMAS) will report to the Clinical Coordinator and/or the Practice Administrator. Under the direction of the Practice Physician, the Certified Medical Assistant Supervisor (CMAS) will provide superior patient care and perform both clinical and administrative tasks. Additionally, one of their functions will be to supervise and manage clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree, High School Diploma, or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
• Higher education may be substituted for experience.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in a hospital or physician practice setting.
• 1 – 3 years of experience in a supervisor capacity.
• Intermediate to advanced EMR knowledge.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office knowledge.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Maintain current National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
