Job summary

Novant Health seeks a Medical Office Assistant to coordinate and assist the provider, ensuring safe, quality and cost-effective care for patients within the practice population.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and current certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA) or obtain it within 6 months, with prior medical office experience preferred and a valid state driver license for Palliative Care as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Current certification from approved registries (CMA, CCMA, RMA, ARMA/NAHP/others) or ability to obtain within 6 months and sign education agreement.
• Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months as CMA, RMA or CCMA; State Driver's License (Palliative Care Only) required.
• Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
