Job summary

Harris Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Harris Pulmonary team in Sylva, NC. This full-time role offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment and a Monday–Friday, 8a–5p schedule.

Join a growing pulmonary and sleep medicine practice with three providers and a satellite clinic, collaborating with a sister facility 30 minutes away to ensure continuity of care in the Western North Carolina region.

Qualifications

  • Current state certification as a certified or registered medical assistant.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of provider, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
  • Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains examination areas.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
  • Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers or Market Director.

Our close-knit team currently consists of three dedicated providers who are deeply passionate about caring for patients with respiratory conditions and sleep disorders. As we continue to grow, we are actively recruiting additional providers to help expand access to high-quality, compassionate care within our community. Our practice includes a satellite clinic and strong collaboration with our sister facility located just 30 minutes away, allowing for continuity of care and a supportive professional network. What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state certification as a certified or registered medical assistant and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

  • Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 days of hire.
  • Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Previous medical office experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.
