Job summary

ALABAMA REGIONAL MEDICAL SERVICES seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join its patient-centered PRN team in Birmingham. You will welcome patients, take histories, record vitals, assist physicians, perform phlebotomy, and support lab tasks in a busy clinic.

Ideal candidates have CMA certification, BLS/CPR, and Alabama driver’s license. Expect PRN shifts Mon–Fri with multiple 4-hour blocks and competitive pay, with opportunities to grow within a supportive clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CCMA certification (NHA) preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Alabama driver’s license valid and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients for exams, collect medical histories, and record vital signs.
• Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy, collect and label lab specimens, and conduct routine lab tests.
• Administer specified medications and injections as directed.
• Provide wound care and patient education on medications and preventive care.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing, and patient follow-up.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations and procedures

• Perform basic diagnostic X-rays and support administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing, and patient follow-up

• Valid Alabama Driver’s License & Insurable Driving Record
