Job summary

Ascension Medical Group Clinic in North Vernon, IN is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join the Primary Care team. This full-time daytime role supports providers with clinical and clerical duties, prepares exam rooms, and ensures patient flow runs smoothly.

You will interview patients, record vital signs, document encounters, and assist with treatments under supervision. A valid BLS and MA credential within stated timeframes are required, with education options as described.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential (certified or registered) within 90 days of hire.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients. Transcribes orders including labs, radiology and medications.
