Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinic operations and patient care. This role requires full availability Tue-Fri, 8am-5pm, and involves preparing patients, documenting tests, and assisting with procedures in a fast-paced setting.

The candidate should have a HS diploma, CPR/BLS, and CMA/CMAC/RMA/NCCA certifications as listed, with experience in computer systems used for patient records. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
  • Maintains policies and procedures knowledge, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Keeps education requirements up to date via competencies and tests.
  • Prepares patients/equipment for treatment and documents results in the system.
  • Maintains OSHA and office safety processes and policies.
  • Provides whole care during visits, including intake, tests, labs, medications, and closing gaps.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee/patient information.
  • Supports staff by assisting patients, visitors and coworkers.
  • Performs clinical intake, history, vitals, and medication reconciliation.
  • Assists with minor procedures and ensures documentation is accurate.
  • Educates patients about tests, medications, and diet with clear instructions.
  • Monitors inventory and ensures supplies and equipment function properly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

Schedule: Full Time, 36 hrs

Shift: Requires full availability for Tues-Fri, 8am-5pm

  • Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
  • Stays up to date and familiar with all policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Maintains education requirements for the position and demonstrates competency through annual clinical competencies and written tests.
  • Ensures efficient office flow by preparing patients and equipment for treatment, initiating testing, and documenting results in the practice’s designated system.
  • Maintains OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance, following safety processes and policies.
  • Provides whole care to patients during office visits, including intake, test results, screenings, labs, medication administration, and closure of care gaps.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employees’ and patients’ administrative and medical information.
  • Supports staff teamwork by assisting patients, visitors, and co-workers when necessary.
  • Performs clinical intake according to policy and procedures, including screenings, history taking, vital signs, and medication reconciliation.
  • Assists with minor procedures associated with specialty and ensures accurate documentation at the time of service or results.
  • Educates patients regarding tests, medications, and diet, providing clear and accurate instructions.
  • Monitors and manages inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and functioning medical equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
