Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a qualified Certified Medical Assistant in Somerville, NJ. The role involves performing clinical tasks such as EKGs, hearing and vision screenings, urinalysis, injections, vaccinations, and medication administration.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Completion of a formal nurse assistance training program
• Minimum of six months' experience

Certifications and Licenses:

• CMA Certification
• BLS Certification from AHA

Scheduling:

• Day Shift
• Per Diem Schedule

Essential Functions:

• Support practice needs with clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, preparing lab requests, and other duties as assigned
• Communicate with insurance providers, handle pre-authorizations and certifications
• Prepare rooms, arrange instruments and equipment, maintain a clean environment
• Room patients, verify information, confirm visit purpose, record vitals, and update medical history
• Communicate with patients and providers as instructed by the overseeing physician or health practitioner
• Create and maintain health records, organize files as needed
