Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (Per Diem) to support clinical care under supervision of a nurse or physician. The role includes patient prep, vital signs, basic testing, specimen collection, and clerical tasks while ensuring patient confidentiality.

The position requires a CMA certification or equivalent, a High School diploma or GED, and strong communication skills. Per diem status offers flexible scheduling within a hospital-affiliated setting in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent certification is required.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Ability to interact with diverse populations in a supportive manner.
• Familiarity with computerized processes and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam room, treatment room, supplies and instruments.
• Prepares patients for physician visit and examination.
• Takes patient vital signs and records in medical chart.
• Assists with EKG, PFT, Audiometry as indicated.
• Performs phlebotomy and other lab testing as indicated.
• Maintains patient records and files.
• Assists with billing procedures as needed.
• Uses computer software to maintain office systems.
