What You'll Be Doing

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) assists physicians, nurses, and other medical staff in providing patient care by following policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. You will provide clinical and clerical support, including assisting with medical procedures, equipment sterilization, filing, information retrieval, and screening examinations.

We are seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant with some Pediatrics experience to work at our medical practice in Hoboken. Please note that public parking may not be available, and you may need to use PATH or light rail for transportation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Take patient medical histories
2. Explain treatments or procedures to patients
3. Clean and sterilize equipment after use
4. Prepare patients and assist physicians with procedures
5. Assist patients with activities such as obtaining food, toileting, post-op movement, and maintaining comfort
6. Instruct patients about medication and special diets
7. Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician or licensed provider
8. Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient and are prepared for the next; assist with light housekeeping duties including spills
9. Stock exam and treatment rooms with medical supplies, linens, and chart forms
10. Maintain charts with relevant lab work and test results
11. Escort patients and specimens throughout the facility
12. Obtain vital signs, weights, EKGs, and perform other tests within scope; assist with blood collection/phlebotomy as needed
13. Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Medical Assistant in New Jersey
• Medical Assistant Diploma
• Ability to understand Pediatrics data and be cross-trained for front desk and back-office duties
• BLS certification preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
