Qualifications

• SC Department of Education-approved Health Sciences program.
• Military training in medical assisting.
• U.S. Department of Labor-approved Medical Assisting Registered Apprenticeship.
• Pharmacy Health Care Institute CMA Fast Track CMA program.
• Tennessee completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical, technical, administrative and clerical duties under physician/APRN/PA supervision.
• Prepare patients for examinations; record chief complaints, current medications, vital signs and allergies.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms; maintain supplies and sterilize instruments.
• Assist physician with exams, tests and procedures; apply splints and dressings; report emergencies.
• Prepare and administer medications/immunizations as ordered; document in records.
• Handle patient communication, scheduling, referrals and billing tasks as assigned.
