Job summary

The South Bend Clinic in Granger, IN is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to support Family Medicine. You will manage patient flow, assist with clinical procedures, and document patient care in Epic.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is required.
• Proficient computer skills including EMR (Epic) and strong organization.
• Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience in a clinical office is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides ongoing triage and management of office flow to meet patient needs.
• Performs the technical component of the department’s clinical procedures.
• Documentation of all patient care is thorough and compliant with regulations.
• Maintains patient care communications clearly and professionally.
• Receives patients in waiting areas and rooms them per protocol.
• Keeps logs for equipment (refrigerator temp, autoclave, eyewash, crash cart).
• Verifies insurance coverage for pre-certifications and referrals in Epic.
• Applies general insurance guidelines to guide patient care.
• Responds appropriately to emergencies and cross-trains where needed.
• Exhibits proficiency with computer systems and adheres to clinic standards.
