Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is actively seeking a certified Medical Assistant to provide patient/family centered care, support clinical staff, and document care in the medical record. The role includes screening patients, assisting with procedures, and maintaining room readiness.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assisting program with at least one year of patient care experience, and active CMA/CCMA or equivalent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Certification through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA as CCMA/CMA/NAHP/NCCT is required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/family centered care and act as partner and adviser.
• Assist with preparation, examination and procedures, including vital signs and screenings.
• Document all patient care in the medical record per policy and communicate changes to providers.
