Job summary

Carolina ENT-Sinus and Allergy Center, P.A. seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to actively participate as a focused member of the Patient Care Team under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager.

Educates patients about procedures, medications, and physician instructions and serves as the liaison among patients, physicians, and practice departments. The home base is determined at hire, with travel across Lenoir, Hickory, Morganton, and Lincolnton for training and support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA CMA) or CCMA; certification expected within first year if not certified.
• 6 months to 2 years CMA experience preferred; new program graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate as a Care Team member under supervision to assess and coordinate patient needs.
• Assist physicians with patient exams and procedures (injections, earwax removal, wound care, etc.).
• Prepare rooms and equipment for in-office procedures; maintain room cleanliness and sterility.
• Call in prescriptions and refills as requested by physicians.
• Support other nursing staff and manage patient histories and instrument sterilization when needed.
• Facilitate patient flow, schedule updates, and accurate height/weight/vital signs recording.
• Triage clinical calls within 48 hours and communicate test results appropriately.
• Prepare specimens and paperwork for lab submission; process FMLA paperwork.
• Maintain professional certification through continuing education or CCMA program.
• Assist with CT setup for in-house imaging and sleep ring devices.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations; participate in required meetings.
