Job summary

Tidelands Health in Georgetown, SC is seeking a Medical Assistant (Certified) II to join the care team. You will support providers with routine patient care, take vital signs, assist with procedures, draw blood and administer medications with physician authorization.

You will educate patients on office policies, disease management and home care while helping to keep exam rooms stocked and clean. A CMA/MA certification and HIPAA knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of related customer facing experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Certification as CMA/MA required (various certs listed).
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Accompany patients to exam rooms and prepare for exams.
• Perform and document vital signs.
• Assist with procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications with physician’s authorization.
• Perform EKGs.
• Use CPR when required.
• Draw blood.
• Educate patients on policies, medications, disease management and home care.
• Stock exam rooms, clean rooms/instruments, dispose of biohazard waste per OSHA.
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
