Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification from CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA/NRMA and other listed credentials.
• 1 year experience preferred.
• Proficient with electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering health information.
• Monitors and completes quality improvement measures and notifies clinicians as needed.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
• Assists physicians/APP with procedures such as exams and testing.
• Administers routine medications under orders or standing protocols.
• Maintains clinic flow and communicates with the health care team; refers questions appropriately.
• May perform basic/advanced clinical tasks under supervision (e.g., phlebotomy, sutures removal, EKG).
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and communicates developmental needs to the team.
