Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Colonial Healthcare (Optum) in Sumter, SC is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care, perform venipuncture, injections, EKGs, and point-of-care tests in a busy primary care setting.

You will assist with exams, record vital signs, manage referrals, and help maintain a safe, confidential environment while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service. Competitive hourly pay with benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant diploma or certification, or 1+ year of MA experience.
• Active CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA certification by approved bodies.
• CPR certification on hire or within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with information, services and support.
• Administer medications and injections; venipuncture for labs.
• Perform EKGs, spirometry, flu and strep tests.
• Maintain supplies and equipment; ensure inventory accuracy.
