Job summary

Colonial Healthcare, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant in Sumter, SC. The role supports patient care across primary and specialty services, including injections, venipuncture, EKGs, and vital signs.

You will help manage patient information, schedules, and front/back-office duties in a patient-centered environment. Requirements include a Medical Assistant diploma or 3+ years of experience, active CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA certification, CPR certification, and a HS diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant diploma or 3+ years of experience after on-the-job training.
• Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA or RMA through NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT or NHA).
• CPR certification by hire date or within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance.
• Administering medications and injections.
• Venipuncture for lab draw.
• Performing EKGs, Spirometry, Flu and Strep Tests.
• Maintains medical supplies inventory and equipment maintenance.
