Job summary

AltaPointe Health is seeking a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant to provide front- and back-office support in a clinical setting in Mobile, AL. The role includes patient intake, vital signs, injections, medication reconciliation, radiology prep, and coordination with physicians and the care team.

The CMA will maintain medical records, assist with lab services, ensure patient safety during procedures, and uphold AltaPointe policies and the highest standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Possesses current certification for a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, continuously bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and lift at least 10 pounds.
• Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Must communicate verbally and maintain accuracy under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Greets all patients in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Assists with the assessment process including height/weight, vital signs, and current medications.
• Administers injections observing the Six Rights of medication administration.
• Communicates with the physician/CRNP regarding patient condition.
• Interacts with the multi-disciplinary team and reports lab results to the physician/CRNP.
• Responds to patient calls promptly; calls in prescriptions as directed.
• Updates patient medical records; assists in arranging laboratory services and preparing specimens.
• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and operate radiologic equipment as required.
• Ensure radiologic safety and maintain equipment; document and maintain procedure logs.
• Adheres to professional code of ethics and AltaPointe policies; maintains privacy of protected health information.
