Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant at Bon Secours Suffolk Primary Care supports the primary care physician in delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing examination rooms in accordance with state guidelines.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and an active Medical Assisting certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent). BLS is required or will be required prior to independent patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active Medical Assisting certification from CMA/RMA/CCMA/NHA/NCCT or ABR-OE alternative.
• BLS certification required or at hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Review and update patient charts and health records.
• Measure vital signs including pulse, respiration, BP, weight and height.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and manage clerical duties as needed.
• Troubleshoot problems and support team as required.
